Civil Construction & Local Government
Civil Construction
Australian Training and Consulting’s civil construction training packages provide skills through various disciplines including road construction, maintenance, plant and marking.
The civil construction industry employs large numbers of outdoor staff constructing and maintaining the roads and related infrastructure.
New employees, in particular, need to be trained but this can be at a substantial cost to employers. It can take many years for a typical employee to gain the full range of skills needed to tackle all the tasks involved in their field. After many years experience, many staff seldom have any formal qualifications to confirm their level of practical skills.
With the help of Australian Training and Consulting, local government can help their employees get national accreditation for their existing skills and undertake training to gain skills that they do not have.
While training and skill development has obvious benefits for employees, there are also positive outcomes for employers. ATAC will visit your workplace to minimise the down time.
The outcome is that employees complete a nationally-recognised and VETAB-accredited qualification with no negative impact on the productivity of your business.
Employers need not be out of pocket for providing their employees with training. The State and Federal governments provide financial incentives to employers for some training programs.
All staff – full-time or part-time - may be eligible for the incentives regardless of their age and length of service. Employers considering employing new staff may be able to off-set the costs of training by accessing the incentives.
